Risk and fear are frequent companions. When we see something that strikes us with fear, it's because a risk is involved. Fear is such a powerful motivator that Hollywood uses it to drive ticket sales.

Many people enjoy having their fear button pushed. They pay for the privilege. Why do scary movies make so much money? We like that jolt of excitement from multiple doses of fear delivered on the big screen. We know we are removed from the situation and that it is contrived, so the fear is enjoyable and exciting.

Encountering fear in the real world is less fun.

It usually means we are exposed to risk, which provides the potential for harm, failure, or loss. If you avoid risk at all costs, you limit what you get out of life. Here are a few methods for confidently and courageously facing risk so you don't let it dilute your experience.

Dismantle the Risk

You are on vacation, and the scenery is beautiful. You have rented a cabin in the mountains and are considering going on a nature hike. Several people are in your group, so you are not worried about going alone. You are charged up and ready to go when someone brings up the topic of danger.

Will you encounter a bear along the way? Are mountain lions something you need to consider? How about rattlesnakes or poison ivy and other threats of Mother Nature? You suddenly question whether leaving your safe and cozy cabin is a good idea.

Take the risk apart. Study it piece by piece. Talk to a nature guide or someone who lives in the area. Before you let risk paralyze you and keep you from taking action, look at the many components of the situation objectively. You might discover your concerns are overblown and unnecessary.

Remember That Failures Aren't Final

Risk is worrisome because it presents the possibility of failure. Remember that failures aren't final. Look back on your past. How many times have you succeeded when you predicted failure? If you fail, you can start again with more information about what didn't work.

Assemble a Confidence Boosting Team

The world can be scary and uncertain on your own. Knowing that some people will support you when you encounter uncertainty and fear is beautiful. Develop a team of supportive people who understand the benefits of embracing risk.

Have faith in yourself. Develop a thick skin so it doesn't hold you down for long if you fail. Then, practice these three risk-embracing tips so fear and uncertainty won't hold you back from living your best life.

Are you ready to face your fears and confidently take on challenges in your life? Start by trying out these three tips. You will be amazed when you see how they change your life!

Let me know how it goes in the comments. Don't let fear keep you on the sidelines?take that leap and make things happen!
